Wish I could and maybe when I move back to the city I will be able to do this, but out here in the country I can't depend on the power remaining on. And yes, I do have a ups, but the way power goes up and down out here, I burn up a lot of equipment if it stays on all the time.
Just an update. The mouse driver was one of the problems, but there are others. Before the update, one of ten shutdowns would work. All others would lock up the computer. Now, about six of ten shutdowns work, but the other times the system still locks up.
Since installing Win Me, I've had problems shutting down my computer. Sometimes I would get a GPF, sometimes just a blank black screen. Oddly enough, I found a fix by updating my mouse drivers. I'm using a Microsoft mouse with IntelliEye. Good luck and I hope this fixes your problem.
