check in your bios if in the standard cmos your ide channel is not set as cd-rom set it on none some mainboards have this prob. i had it myself.

witch kind of cpu is this is this the new coppermine or the old one if it is a coppermine you need the latest SB live drivers also 3.x
because of a incompatability with the coppermine cpu with the via drivers you have that is if you get a BSOD for the UMU10K i thougt.

check if the jumper is still on RPC1 if it is flash the firmware and it shoud be unlockt also check this site because if it is lockt the have a proggie to unlock it i hope?

My Nic's did not share an IRQ but that can be a prob. are you using a router or routing software for sharing the internet if you are using wingate the nat function is not always working properly in some configs.

I had a simular problem and it was a network conflict try to take one nic out if the system and play the games you want if it doesn't lockup try moving the nic's to another slot.
