I just noticed that the stock heatsink for my e6750 takes four pins and there is a place on my mother board thats labeled cpu fan with four pins. I'm going to install a Thermalright Ultima 90 with a Panaflo Fan on it, but the panaflo fan takes only three pins. Can i just plug it into a different...
Hi, I'm a newbie when it comes to overclocking seeing as how I haven't done it, and I've got a few questions regarding overclocking and ram.
If I had an E6750 and some DDR2-800 ram and I wanted to overclock the cpu to 3.4GHz, then I would need to raise the FSB to 425MHz, because multiplying...
I'm building my first computer very soon and I wanted any input that you guys could give me. I intend to use this mainly for gaming and school related stuff. I'll probably spend around $2000. I plan to overclock. I hope to get the CPU to 3.4GHz and I don't know if I'm going to OC the GPU.
Here...
Ok so, I'm going to be building my first computer in a couple weeks and I'm making some last minute adjustments on components. I intend to overclock an E6750 to 3.4GHz and use this computer mainly for gaming and school related stuff. The mobo I'm getting is the GIGABYTE GA-P35C-DS3R...
I was wondering how people measure case temperatures. I understand that there are programs that will tell you your cpu and vga temps, but what about the inside of the case? How do you measure that?
Thanks for your replies to all my threads BonzaiDuck, unfortunately I wont be building my new computer until October so I cant experiment. But I'll make sure to post my experiences once I do.
I'm going to have a duct go from a 92mm fan mounted to my heatsink to an 80mm blow hole fan on the top of my case. There is also an 80mm intake fan in the rear of the case blowing towards the heatsink.
Here is an approximation of what it will be like (ignore periods)...
If I build ducts for the inside of my case out of plexiglass, should i worry about a static charge building up? Or if the duct is attached to the chassis, will it be grounded? It makes sense that it would be grounded and I should have no reason to worry, but what do you guys think?
Sorry I didn't respond, I just like reading everyones thoughts on the subject. Thanks for all the replies. You guys gave me some good ideas and I think I'm going to end up adding some ducting and then have positive airflow in the ducting while not worrying too much about over all...
