Question about Connecting Heatsink fan to Motherboard

I just noticed that the stock heatsink for my e6750 takes four pins and there is a place on my mother board thats labeled cpu fan with four pins. I'm going to install a Thermalright Ultima 90 with a Panaflo Fan on it, but the panaflo fan takes only three pins. Can i just plug it into a different fan header on the motherboard with out any problems? or is there a different type of fan that would be better to use on the heat sink?
