Yes, the AIW does capture in MPEG-2, editing depends on the software you use and exporting to CD-R is solely dependant on the CD-R drive. Keep in mind that capturing in MPEG-2 creates a very large file, 6-15 mb per second depending on the quality you choose.
I have a similar setup (see my specs), but probably running cooler with PIII instead of Athlon. GOrb is fairly quiet and so is the IBM HD. Also the AIW Radeon runs very cool so you may not need too much active cooling. Since you are spending some decent cash you may as well add some rounded...
Thanks for the info, and to answer some questions I am capturing video in mpeg-2 at 720x540 from vhs and satelite. At highest quality with my Radeon AIW I only get around 66 minutes. Whate else am I supposed to do with all the space on my hard drives? ;-)
I ordered sunday morning and I just got my order confirmation and all items are as ordered with the coupons reflected in the price. I'll beleive it when UPS shows up at my door!
I got a 700 from Buy.com $173 - $30 off $150 = $143, and it went straight to 1050. Ive backed off to 933, but I have nothing but good things to say about this purchase!!
