I thought ATI "cheated" with the temporal AA? Also... isn't there just one most up to date ForceWare driver? Nice to hear some anti Nvidia points though... I'm not sure which to get now heh

What're the specs on yours? And benchmarks? ;) It's going to be a vast step up for me. No more budget video card for a start

I thinK I'll get the 6800 Ultra. There's no real reason to go with the ATI for me (not bothered about the space the Ultra uses up etc) and it's running the better technologies from what i see. (SM 3.0 etc). I'd rather be able to use that later on than end up without it and with the ATI card.

It's going to be running a 3500+. RAM will be running dual channel etc. It'll definately be slower then? Hmm =/

My new pc will have 2GB of ram (as you can see). Is there any reason to have 2 sticks of 1024 over 4 of 512 apart from the upgrade advantage? (Not going to be doing this.) Is it faster? All I can see atm is that 4 of 512 is cheaper. Cheers

Looks like the X800XT PE is winning so far. Is the Shader 2.0 on the PE much of a problem? Will it become a problem?

It does seem to be cheaper, maybe it's only here? About 50 quid less I think. I think I'll have it for quite a while, needs to last. Obviously SM3 games will happen but I'm not sure how essential it'll be. No Linux, just XP.

Slightly off (my) original topic but... Given the choice between the 3500+ Athlon 64 or the P4 3.4Ghz (Not EE) everyone'd take the AMD?

It will probably be AGP. If I go PCIe it's a choice of the 6600GT or the X800XT Pro.. and I'd rather have the XT800XT PE. SLI doesn't really seem worth it at the the moment. That is unless someone can give me a good reason not to.

I've looked at quite a lot of different comparisons for these. And it seems that the X800XT Platinum is better....but then sometimes it seems to do terribly in some of the tests and unless they've got the PE and the Pro mixed up I don't understand it. Can anyone tell me which is ACTUALLY...

The Sony seems quite good - I don't think the reflective screen would be too bad. It seemed OK when I saw it in a shop. Is it OK for ghosting and picture quality?
