Strange problem with a GTX 1080 and Rocket League

Try disabling HPET (High Precision Event Timer) either in BIOS or administrative command prompt in windows. I had a similar problem on a ryzen build once I upgraded it to a Gtx 1080ti from a R9 290. In The Witcher 3 and Gears of War 4 it would perform worse than the 290. It would drop to 20fps...

Polaris Refresh (RX 500 Series) Rumors

Perhaps Little Vega will fill out this line up by coming in 590 and 590x SKUs. If it's a successful chip, people who can't afford it may step down to the rebrands by association. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk

I sold Gtx 1080 G1 to buy Gtx 1080 ti. Question.

If you play on that monitor with V-sync on, I'd wager you will notice zero (0) difference, 99% of the time. When you look at benchmarks, draw a line in your head at 60fps. If the minimums are well above 60fps, all those gpus will perform the same for you. Get a 144hz or higher resolution...

    1080ti bottleneck or no?

What refresh rate is your monitor? Do you use V-sync? If the answer to those is 60hz and yes, then a 1080ti will be a colossal waste of money as it will sit there underutilised and quickly depreciating in value. If you're aiming for 120hz+ in modern games, or intend a monitor upgrade soon, then...

    Have a 290, worth it to upgrade to a 1070 for $350?

I went from a 290 to a 1070. At 144hz and this late in the cycle I wouldn't get anything less than Gtx 1080 performance. The prices for that should come down soon. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk

    Ryzen-A Fail for Gamers?

It's as if every mainstream 1080p gamer in the world has suddenly turned off V-sync for this Ryzen launch. How many "reviewers" are using a GPU testing methodology of increasing (or decreasing) resolution and neglecting to mention refreshrates that are of concern for actual displays people use...

HDMI 2.1 officially announced - Variable Refresh for PCs and consoles up to 10K 120Hz!

That is quite a robust spec upgrade. Bringing VRR to the masses via televisions in time for the PS5 is great news for PC gamers too — a certain gpu vendor should be compelled to support this 'mainstream' feature before then. Look forward to upgrading my display and audio chain when all these...

    What mic are you using?

Modmic for me as well. Using on both sennheiser HD 598 and Momentum "Over Ears" . The noise dampening is actually very good. I can watch movies or have music playing very loud on my theatre system, and won't get any complaints it's too loud. Keyboards won't be a problem at all.

The first TRUE DX12 title (DualShockers)

The Ultimate Edition unlocks a few days earlier. Plus, I'm in Australia so not sure if that also gave us a head start.

The first TRUE DX12 title (DualShockers)

You can sign into the windows store and other apps individually. Just look out for the 'this app only' or similar when it asks for a Microsoft account sign in. I've finished Act 1 last night with insane settings on 1080p with a 1070 without a single drop below 60fps apart from a very short 4...

    Upgrading from a 290X

There really isn't anything to step up from a 290x but a 1070. I loved my 290 tri-x the last <3 years and was really hoping to give AMD some money for a 490, but they've left us high end AMD buyers twiddling our thumbs as major games are releasing this year that put a hurt on our older cards...

Speckles in Dark Areas & Intermittent Black Screen (SOLVED)

Speckles are a sign of digital video signal degradation near the point of total failure (blank screening). This is probably a cable quality/length issue. How long are your cables? Resolution? interference from something? You need thicker AWG wire for reliable runs longer than 3m. Since you...

    AMD Crimson 16.8.3 drivers released

I'm not exactly sure when this was fixed, but I would just like to mention that VSR is now FINALLY working again on my r9 290 using HDMI. This was not a recognised issue in any of the 'known issues' or 'fixed' driver notes, but a major problem for many people like me for probably 5 months or...

How old is your primary GPU?

R9 290 Tri-X since early 2014. Bought two, down to single GPU after selling one to a friend late last year. I'm really hoping small Vega could be a repeat of Hawaii's great perf/$ regardless of power usage, and bring prices for that performance segment down once again. With current prices here...

    BEST gaming PC controllers?

Big couch PC gamer here. For years I've used the 360, Razor Onza & Sabertooth, the Xbox One controller and recently the Elite. I find the Xbone controller the most comfortable and with the best thumbsticks, but it lacked the extra buttons the Razor controllers had which IMO are incredibly useful...
