i have done prime95 stress test for 10+ hrs 2x and it never crashed once. then i put an alcohol thermometer at the top of the heatsink at it only rose to 35C at 100% load. Even with the inaccuracies of this measurement, i have a feeling the bios is simply reporting bad temps. i hope
i thought venice was supposed to be cooler?
anyways the only fans for the case are the 120mm in the back and the antec smart power 2.0, which should not matter since it runs at the same temp even with an open case.
it seems that mbm 5 doesn't have the msi rs480m2 on the list of supporte...
yes, i did remove the plastic :) and I am using the stock thermal pad.
maybe the ambient temps are just too high. i have the case open and the room temps are around 27C. i hope it is nothing wrong with the cpu
edit: i will report back after mbm5 install
cheers
I just set up a 3000+ venice w/ stock cooling, MSI RS480M2-IL, 1 gb valueselect ram, 120gb Samsung SATA and I have temps of 47C-50C idle. Is this normal?
Is there anyway to check temps in windows?
thx
