By the way, the restarts occur when my computer is idle in Windows. The temps are fine: 34C CPU, 34C System.

Since I've added my Hitachi HD (see below), I've been getting random restarts. I suspect the power supply, but the voltage readings from Asus Probe seem fine (+12V@12.403; +5V@5.107; +3.3V@3.36; 1.616 Vcore). I'm running the latest mobo BIOS. Any ideas...

The flashmod increases only your 3dmark03 scores, by altering the rendering in Game Two. Besides this 300 mark increase (due to cheating), the mod improves nothing. I've tested it myself.

Really sounds like bad memory. Test each memory DIMM individually. If that doesn't work, test each HD individually (with each one set as "Master").

Well the motherboard I'm considering (Abit SR7-8x) has 3:3 - 3:6 and 4:3 - 4:6, so I'm not really worried about FSB/mem ratios. I just want to know which proc stands a better chance at stably overclocking to 2.4/2.5 GHz. I'm getting some good Samsung DDR400 memory as well.

Hey, thanks all for the responses. Now that I know the P4 multipliers are locked, I'm wondering if the 1.6A would be better considering its lower multiplier. I'm guessing a 1.6@2.4 w/ 150 FSB would perform better than a 1.8@2.394 w/ 133 FSB. Am I right?
