A release within a month of announcement is fine by me. It's more that if it starts at a price of 700$ I wouldn't want to wait until that came down. But in that case the Nexus 6P would still be an option.

Well the 'modules' aren't interesting me either. It's the shatterproof display that I find offers something important no other company can provide. Missing security updates are a big no no, though.

Oh it doesn't have to be today, but I don't want to wait several months either. Is the release of the phones usually shortly after the announcement? In that case it could be wise to wait for the google HTC phones. If they are expected to be below 500$, that is.
