What do you think of this information from Overclockers.com?
"Epox 8RDA Two days ago, I got copies of emails from Epox technical support saying that this board does not have a PCI lock and that the maximum divisor is /5.
I've now seen emails purported from Epox technical support saying that...
I'm still here. I'm rarely around. Mods haven't given me a time out - why should they? mechBgon - explain, or 'b'gon for good!
I'm all for good news - and I think if the Epox news is true, then by all means - congrats to whomever is buying or will buy their products. Seems like an excellent...
Not really...it is a known fact that the KT333 and KT400 both support the 1/5th divider - nothing lower.
Why didn't they just make it so that the PCI was locked like any sane company (look at Asus) would do - BECAUSE nForce2 doesn't rely on the FRICKEN clock divider ?
That lousy Epox cheap assed crap probably supports 333mhz Barton only...I highly doubt that it will be able to handle a 200mhz Barton should AMD goes that route.
Shut up, dude...save your breath. I already appologized in my earlier post. Talk all you want - frankly I couldn't careless about your senile way of thinking. How old are YOU? 75?
Sure thing.
Straight from Anandtech's nForce2 review.
Some BS by Abit.
"The NF7-S BIOS version we received contained an AGP lock set at 66MHz, but we were unable to find any PCI lock set at 33MHz in this BIOS. We asked ABIT why the AGP lock was included in the NF7-S BIOS but not the PCI...
Yet another person who doesn't know what he/she is talking about.
200mhz Barton official news was RELEASED by Anandtech...you are gonna call Mr. Shimpi a liar now?
That source is wrong. Not all Nforce2 motherboards support PCI locking.
I know FOR SURE that the Asus does. And perhaps the EPOX...but no other company has the balls or the brains to utilize the nForce2 to its full potential.
My original post was not a flame bait - This is to the genius with the big mouth on this thread.
I posted my concerns / opinions and I was shot down.
My main concern is the fact that most manufacturers are living in the friggin past on the AMD side...maybe thats why AMD is losing all the...
The only reason why one would want to buy an nForce2 would be for the free overclocking without stressing the rest of the components on the system. You don't know what the hell you are talking about. Its not the end of the world, but learning about the fact that most of the manufacturers have...
