thanks I was reading somewhere the the variance on core 0 is due to the built in video portion which is next to core 0. If your not using it, it acts like a heatsink or the built in heatsink (something like that) allows it to be cooler..... that was just something I came across..not exactly...

ok I redid the mounting and when I pulled the corsair OFF the chip there was a whole dime size section without ANY PASTE.... I also noticed while remounting that the bracket on the back was loose.. I had to slightly bend the X-shape back and then screw it back down inorder to make sure it didn't...
