Do I need anything else to do this memory upgrade?

Thanks. That's what I thought, I just wasn't sure how much power a gig required.

Do I need anything else to do this memory upgrade?

I'm a noob. I want to upgrade my RAM from 1 gig to 2 gigs. I have a Dell Dimension 4600 that supports DDR 400, DDR 333, and DDR 266 SDRAM. Do I need to upgrade my power source or cooling system? Can I just imput the 1 gig stick straight up? Thanks.

    Is this allowed here?

I'm not sure if this is allowed. If not, I'm sorry and feel free to delete it. I wanted to tell you guys about an online game that I love to play but it's getting small, so I'm trying to recruit new players. It's at mobfather.com. Basically, it's a mafia game that imvolves other players...

    Why is this?

This might be a dumb question, but on the site below the benchmarks for gaming performance is higher or XP than Vista. Why is this? http://www.gamespot.com/features/6164940/p-5.html

    NVIDIA's 7950 vs. 7900

I've considered it, yes, but I'm not sure if I have the knowledge yet to build my own computer. I agree, however, that upward of $2,000 and more is a lot to trust to Dell, but, in this case, I trust them more than I trust myself. Also, what's this I hear about the 8800 with Vista not working...

    NVIDIA's 7950 vs. 7900

I've considered that, but I'm not sure what the power usage and heat given off by the 8800. I'd hesitate only because I'm not sure if the stock cooler and PSU can support such a powerful card.

    NVIDIA's 7950 vs. 7900

$650 above the stock card (256MB nVidia Geforce 7300LE TurboCache). I figure, with a C2D 6600, 2GB RAM, and the 7950GX2, gaming will be smooth.

    NVIDIA's 7950 vs. 7900

Ok, maybe not out of my price range, just not offered by Dell yet. The 7950GX2 is the best video card for the XPS 410.

    NVIDIA's 7950 vs. 7900

Article I'm going to be picking up a C2D 6600 gaming computer from Dell and I'm curious about potential video cards. The 7950GX2 has 1GB memory and the 7900GS (single GPU) has 256MB memory. So, I assumed that the 7950 is the better card for gaming, having more memory and a second GPU, but...
