LocutusX: THose ATI Silencers are nice! dropped my case temps 5 degrees and my CPU temps 3 degrees idle. I was pretty happy about that! running a 3000+ @ 233x10 HT3 and my temps currently with that and my Zalman CNPS7000A-CU are 32 idle 43 full load. :P woot! gonna try pushing some voltage...

I'd also take a good long look at the jumper settings for this particual mobo. you might be surprised to find some setting that's single socket capable is not usable when in dual or some such thing. I'd not rule it a dead mobo just yet. O.

MornNB: I'm running a set of CORSAIR TWINX1024-3200 PC3200 2X512MB on my K8N-E and I currently have it running at 200 with no issues. The ram defaults to 200 on the motherboard as well, so I'm not 100% sure why you say it defaults to 166? even my motherboard manual mentions nothing about it...

Turn off (disable) the Cool N' Quiet mode in the CPU configuration menu in the bios. Also turn off(disable) the Smart Q-FAN Function in the Hardware Monitor section of the bios. I've been finding that these two options havce been causing me a lot of issues with this motherboard...
