AMD Vega (FE and RX) Benchmarks [Updated Aug 10 - RX Vega 64 Unboxing]

I'm surprised no one posted the test from THW.de yet. Edit: Said that 3 minutes too early ;) Vega is doing pretty well against a Quadro P6000 in workstation related scenarios. Their reasoning to run it against a Quadro was to test it on software which isn't supported by the Titan X. Original...

AMD Vega (FE and RX) Benchmarks [Updated Aug 10 - RX Vega 64 Unboxing]

GN tested the power consumption "from the wall" so it's useless to determine actual power usage differences in percentages. And PCPer didn't mentioned averages so I had to refer to the TDP in the graphic, which, according to PCPer, is at least in line this time. "In general, the power draw of...

AMD Vega (FE and RX) Benchmarks [Updated Aug 10 - RX Vega 64 Unboxing]

My try to put Vega FE against Titan X into prospective: I used the numbers from GamersNexus and PCPerspective benchmarks (@ stock settings). However, this chart is showing all benchmarks of GN and PCP :

AMD Vega (FE and RX) Benchmarks [Updated Aug 10 - RX Vega 64 Unboxing]

Regarding the possible driver issues. Is it possible that AMD put the vast majority of its coder into the ROCm development (link to German article about it) so they get it ready for Radeon Instinct? So my theory is that they left the driver development alone when they had a working but...

At least you should have quoted what the tester said before people freak out about the results:

This "Pioneer" is one of the first customers with a Vega FE in his hands. The link is showing all the posts he made at wccftech with screenshots of GPU-Z and apparently he wants to run some benchmarks as well.

Ryzen, Skylake, and everything that's coming next. (MEGA discussion thread)

Banded Kestrel will be the Ryzen/Vega APU for desktops, right? If that's the case then it will ship in the first half next year after they launched the RyzenMobile platform later this year. Listen to this (skip to ~10:45) where Jim Anderson talks about that.

    AMD RYZEN Builders Thread

Nice to read that. I gambled a bit and bought the Patriot Viper Elite DDR4 16GB (2x8) 2800MHz kit before the rest of my system because I could get them for a fair price of €120 @Amazon.de. I'm glad that they are working as advertised on AM4 with the new AGESA. I also took off the heatsink and...

    Vega/Navi Rumors (Updated)

Raja mentioned that this would be possible in his AMA on reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/6bklro/we_are_radeon_technologies_group_at_amd_and_were/dhqo06p/ But so far there aren't any signs that we will see this soon.

    AMD X399 !!!!!

Not sure if this was posted already but I found this whitepaper (sponsored by AMD ;) ) linked inside a forbes article: https://www.amd.com/system/files/2017-05/TIRIAS-AMD-Single-Socket-Server.pdf Thought this could be interesting for some of you (I personally have no clue).

    AMD X399 !!!!!

I agree, your naming scheme sounds better but then you would have the problem with the three 12 core CPUs. You would end up with 1960X, 1960 and then something like 1960X+ when the third number is always equal to 1/2 the cores.

Official AMD Ryzen Benchmarks, Reviews, Prices, and Discussion

German retailer Mindfactory is showing how many processors they have sold and it basically confirms what the article is saying - 1700 is the most popular (with the 1700X) atm but the 1600 is catching up fast.
