I can remember reading about a load resistor being available for testing power supplies. Something along those lines should help you out. Sorry I can't give you a complete soultion, but at least you have an avenue for exploration.

I have read that a lot of people are having problems mounting the Zalman if your CPU heat sink is lrge, especially the Thermalrigth SLK's.

It hosed my system. Boot up time more than doubled and I had a lot of little intermittent problems that progressively got worse. After I burned my system to the ground and re-installed all the problems went away. But then again I've heard from people who have had no problems.
