I will be piecing my HTPC together hopefully this weekend. Currently only missing my IR dongle and TV Tuner card. I was thinking about the remote and how ideal it would be if the dongle/card coud actually send signals back out like for home automation purposes..ie control lights, fans anything...

Currently, not really. But I anticipate a need to do video format conversions at a min in addition to normal htpc stuff. Ok , so i think after reading Assissins guides and a few others and poking around, im gonna go with an Ivy Bridge CPU. At first i was going with the I5-3570, simply because I like to stay ahead of the curve when starting new. However after some reading Im thinking the I3-3225 should work fine...

Trying to research my soon to be built HTPC and nearly certain on the InfiniTV 4, but was reading something here that spurred a thought. Since this is my first hand built pc, im trying to figure out everything i need to consider and honestly hadnt thought much about heat until i started...
