I have had this cpu for a few weeks now. I have not tried any other OS yet, but I may format and try 98 SE..... Im am running out of ideas and options.

WElp, I just got the latest bios, the 5W dated 10/22/01. No change. Still wont even look at the floppy drive before windows loads. I guess I will take the heat sink off, clean off old artic silver, reapply and try it again.

I am having the same problem, except when I put it at 1466, windows 2000 wont boot. I cant seem to figure it out!

I am trying the BIOS thing again. I did it before, but it did not work. I may have gotten the wrong one. I am DL'ing the "KG75W.EXE". Its the latest one. Its one above the 5E. Hope this works!!

Pederv, Yes, I am going into Soft Menu III and I have tried it both ways. I have set it to 1700+ (133) mode, then also to user select mode to get 1466. No dice. I have also used the jumper a few times to reset the CMOS to no avail. I am running out of ideas. Thanks for the help tho... any...

I guess those of us with less than 2000 posts dont know what we are doing. I enter the bios, hit "set OPTIMIZED defaults"... and it puts me at 1100mhz when I boot up. When I TRY and FORCE it at 11x133....It wont load! I dont touch anything else! I dont touch the FSB.... Should it not load...

Well, Ive been playing and I have some news. I upped the core voltage from default (1.75 I think) to 1.825. I was able to load windows fully, but as soon as I tried to get on the net, it locked up. Time after time.... I moved the voltage up in .25 increments untill I got to 1.825 and each...

I am using an Antec 400w power supply that is AMD approved. I have the FSB settings set to the normal, default settings and I am not even upping them. Maybe It will load if I start overclocking?! Any other ideas?
