    Thanks for the advice, guys. A couple of questions from your responses.. Forgive my ignorance, but what's "lap" exactly? I'm assuming you both mean wipe it clean.. never heard of that term before. Secondly, I apply the Arctic Silver to the core, not the heatsink, correct? Thanks...

    Press delete on bootup to get into the BIOS, then go to the Boot menu. Make sure Floppy drive is at the top (or "removable disks") and that you have a Win9x bootup disk in the drive. Also, make sure all your jumpers are set okay, if using IDE.. that's a killer, too, though this...
