This is a good deal since it is orderable by "anyone" but it's important to check the local BM offers. There are a couple of BM dealers in Hawaii who will give you the phone free out the door (which means you make $100 on the MIR) with new activation on a $39.99 or higher plan.
I called two AT&T retail stores and asked generally if they price match their dealer's advertised prices. I did not specify the Motorola phone. One AT&T store said, "no" and another said, "it depends, why don't you come down with the ad and we'll see what we can do." It may depend on how...
I had a similar experience with one of the contracts I cancelled. The funny thing is that I was asked, "What can we do to keep you as a customer?" the first time. Unfortunately, I really did want to cancel that one. The second time, I even told them I was using the change in terms as an...
So far (knock on wood), I've had excellent luck with the generic stuff from ebay. I haven't had any problems using it for my Nokias or the Motorola V60 (though I haven't yet tried the desktop dual charger and travel charger for the V60 yet). The only real concern I have is whether using these...
This rebate is on the same form as the $100 phone rebate but appears to only be available if you purchase/activate the phone and buy the accessories from an AT&T wireless (company run) retail store. The rebate form with the additional $20 offer, which I've only seen in AT&T wireless retail...

I really wouldn't mind going through Verizon but for my purposes their plans aren't as good as AT&T's. Verizon's coverage is supposed to be the best in Hawaii, though.
I suspect the notices are in the June bills. I received mine with my first bill on my new line. My "old" line's bill hasn't come yet this month but I suspect the notice will be in there.
Darn. I really wish we had the 60 days. If I cancel my **new** line within 20 days of the notice, I won't have had the phone active for the 30 days required by the Motorola rebate. Would've been nice to have gotten the phone for just the activation fee and two month's service.
vladgur, according to AT&T printed terms, you only have 20 days from the date you receive notification of the change in terms to cancel without incurring the early termination fee. Do you know of something I don't?
THEJUICE, too bad they changed it. I would've loved some way to get the phone with no contract for $50 ($150 less the $100 Motorola rebate - which doesn't appear to require a NEW activation). Thanks for replying.
THEJUICE, can you tell us how to do the deal you suggest? The Circuit City ad says the $150 price is after one $100 rebate (from Circuit City). I was told the same thing at the store. The web site also prices the phone at $250 with two $100 rebates.
May be a better deal to get the R280LX for one cent (with activation, of course) and get back $100 in rebates. The $50 AT&T rebate is for any phone and the $50 Ericsson rebate also applies to the R280LX. Of course, this means giving up the new features in the 289, but for the extra $50, it...
This is the disclaimer that Spiegel now gives on their order confirmation page (no idea what they used to say before):
*Order Total is an estimate. All charges, including merchandise prices, are subject to correction in the event of printing or calculation errors. In case of a merchandise...
