Compuwiz, tried everything voltage wise... even tried the driving value for agp to no avail. First thing I did when I got this guy home was remove the thermal pad. Thanks for the info man
Thanks for the reply. I found it extremely frustrating getting my system stable because I could sometimes not pin point the exact cause of instability. Like sometimes my system would be fine for like a day and then the next day it would just crash while surfing... I don't think it is possible...
Hey there!
I've read some of your posts about those incredible chips you have getting up to 1.5. My question is at those speeds are you able to run your video card at 4x? I am finally satisfied with my 1gig doing 150x9 = 1350 but I can only do it with agp4x disabled. Keeping in mind that...
Hi I'm back again :/ LOL I haven't run my system for more than a week without fiddeling with it again. I have another question though. Is 3.7 for I/O way too much, I seem to remember reading that 3.6 was the limit but I seem to be able to be "stable" with 3.7. Thanks in advance!
ding dong I noticed that you had to turn your cpu down a bit there eh? :( I think I know why too. I've been having problems like hell too. Let me know what has happened since i saw your last post about being at 1410. Thanks
Well said Mike, now if only somebody would do some severe arm mangling/wrangling and get either abit/via to fix their ____ing AGP. I'm not the only one having problems here! *sigh*
AMD4ME2, I have every possible performance enhancing feature turned on in the bios, execpt for @$#!@# AGP 4x :( I figure that I get more performance at 148 x 9.5 with agp 2x then I would at 140 x 10 with AGP 4x enabled.
I broke the one from my fop32 too(god those clips suck) so I took it back to the place that I bought it from and they gave me a real nice clip off of an alpha setup :D. See if you can do that.
If you read around in this forum you will notice that socket a temps are inconsistent. That being said it's hard to know what is accurate or not, there are so many variables. My temps read about 44c under heavy load (prime95 torture test), and because of win98's acpi feature which uses the...
Hmm alpha's are good, overrated though and way overpriced imo. GW's are awesome and the fop 32 is quiet, a hell of a lot cheaper, and provides excellent cooling. My 2 cents
It's like a car... why have one that can do 300km/h when there are no speed limits that are even remotely close to that? (except in germany) It's about bragging rights, and seeing how far you can push your cpu. It's a hobby for me, and many others heh. My 1gig bird is flying at mach chicken...
