    Radeon HD 7870 Crossfiring With R9 270 and/or R9 270X?

I currently have a Radeon HD 7870. I am looking at buying a R9 270 or R9 290X for another computer. Will either the R9 270 or the R9 270X Crossfire with the 7870 if I want to combine them in a single computer somewhere down the road? Also, if Crossfiring them won't work, should I get a 270 or...

CPU Running Too Hot On Guild Wars 2?

Resetting the BIOS didn't do anything so I'm just getting a new heatsink. This is one of the few times I've used a stock Intel HSF, and I guess I should have known better.

CPU Running Too Hot On Guild Wars 2?

Any recommendations (and I'll go $40 no problem)?

CPU Running Too Hot On Guild Wars 2?

I changed some BIOS settings and got the fan speed up to 2000 rpm, but the temps did not fall significantly while playing GW2 (still 90 - 100 degrees Celsius). But if I've been playing GW2 for weeks without any problems, are these temps really an issue?

CPU Running Too Hot On Guild Wars 2?

I'll be installing an aftermarket HSF. Any recommendations for a good HSF that'll fit in a tight motherboard?

CPU Running Too Hot On Guild Wars 2?

There is no core stuck at full load. Besides, with Guild Wars 2 all of the cores are running at high to full capacity when playing the game. Looking at the heatsink while making sure it was seated correctly, I noticed that it really is a piece of junk. You'd think that Intel would sell its...

CPU Running Too Hot On Guild Wars 2?

1500 RPM. I have it set to run at 100% because there is no point with slowing down such a tiny fan.

CPU Running Too Hot On Guild Wars 2?

Yes it is. I was careful to put it on correctly when I first installed it, and I just rechecked it.

CPU Running Too Hot On Guild Wars 2?

My specs are: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3470 CPU @ 3.20GHz Gigabyte B75M-D3V motherboard 8 GB DRAM PC-3 12800 @ 800MHz Radeon HD 7870 Stock Intel heatsink, case cover is off, one 120 mm stock fan at the back. Nothing is overclocked; standard BIOS settings. Right now the CPU is running at...

Yes, it's 64-bit. As someone mentioned above, onboard video needs to use the system memory, so it would seem that with Win 7 installed (love it but it's a hog), having more than 2 gigs of memory could outstrip the benefits of dual-channel. I was also thinking of installing an AMD video card...

    Budget Media Desktop

Now that my ex has a new hard drive up and running with Windows 7, her computer is handling videos pretty well. Her old system drive was the problem. One question: she has two sticks of 1-gig memory. I have one stick of 4-gig memory from a pair where the partner stick died. Would she be...

Would the SSD actually speed up the video processing? And I could buy her a video card, but she's also short on memory and her CPU is kinda weak; would either of these bottleneck the video card?

Best Laptop for College, $800 max

I got my daughter a Lenovo Thinkpad E431, and she loves it. It's relatively light, but it has a DVD drive and a separate video card. The battery life is good with a regular battery and you can get a supersized battery (which is heavier though) if you really want to have a long time away from a...

She has a MSI 890-GXM-65 mobo with a Athlon II x445 CPU. The AMD integrated GPU is a HD4290. It has 2 gigs of memory and two standard hard drives. Not much, but it should be able to play videos I would think. OTOH, it looks like her OS drive was dying. I've replaced it and upgraded from XP...
