nah, you can still find some at 100 if you look well... currently would be this one

and yeah, EVGA not sending out reviewers samples to anyone (I've once asked for one as well and got declined) by the looks of it...
an upgraded TPK would've been more fun, but EVGA in general has lately been... underwhelming
it's sad they just couldn't have said this directly, would've saved us time in researching it
now only one mystery to go... what is B5 exactly?
also, since Jonnyguru has since come out with the result, as speculated it's a HEC TPK, but by the looks of it a downgraded one

EVGA doesn't seem to be too keen to send them out either... the last major coverages were G5 and GM, with G5 being underwhelming and GM being good, just not a great value against Focus SGX and Corsair SF
out of curiosity, I assume you had a sample direct from HEC/Cougar here and not the GT itself?
and looking outside of price for a moment... wouldn't TPK be better than TX-M looking at it without a value standpoint? and wouldn't that be better than the ACRF platform used in G5, making my point...
this has no confirmation from EVGA, but that looks a suspicious lot like a HEC TPK, most famously used in the Cougar GX-F
most ironic part? that would make this thing better than their "flagship" G5
edit: images
upper is the GX-F, lower is GT
actually... the reports I got indicate it as a GX base now, though with bigger heatsinks and such
and there's actually quite good availability of the antec and phanteks focus units like amp and neo eco, so it's not really a concern
It's overpriced, but good
in defense, you can exactly make the coil to the amount of power x drives or something else that would need 3.3v or 5v, making it more efficient
with that you do have some more room by eliminating the 24 pin for a 10 pin connector, so the difference won't be huge
depends a bit... here in the Netherlands you can get the 1300w v-series plat for 40 euros less than a HCP, but that could also have to do that i have a distribution center in the country
fun thing... HCP Platinum's platform (Delta GM) is currently also used in the 2019 version of Cooler Master's V-series platinum. It's not the best like HCP used to be, with the introduction of AXi for example, but still a very good PSU. Thing is that delta currently only has this platform on the...
it's mostly due to loss in efficiency, which would turn into heat
the difference is small though... but yes, decent 80+ gold units like formula gold, TXM and many more are getting more and more affordable, and due to the current tarrifs it's getting more and more worthy to do so
even they make errors... B3 would be an example of this
a mouse doesn't handle 115-230v, can't severely damage by a high ripple load, a failed transient response, a totally off power sensing, a pushed up 5v because it regulates it together, go out of specification on voltage, overstress a vrm...
