Thanks for all the great replies. I'll continue to tally up the "votes" the rest of the day and then write the piece. :)

Abit, AOpen, Asus, Gigabyte, MSI and so forth

Thanks for all the great answers so far, but keep them coming people! :D Once again though... this topic isn't meant to start a debate on what is right and wrong or what is best. It's only supposed to be opinions. More more!!

    Sonata Owners. . .

Isn't that actually really simple? Don't connect the fan directly to your TruePower PSU, but instead to one of the motherboards 3-pin fan connectors. That ought to make it run at 100% unless manually tampered with. Unless I'm mistaken?

    9800XT VGA Silencer

I've been using a Zalman ZM80C-HP on a Sapphire Radeon 9800 Pro for a while now in an Antec Sonata case with minimal airflow. No problems there. The availability of Zalman products really depend upon your geographical location, as there's never really a shortage around here, even though they're...

    Sonata Owners. . .

I have one of my computers in a Sonata case, and I too am quite pleasantly surprised by this product. I've set my Zalman 7000A-Cu to spin at 60-70% which keeps the Athlon 64 3200+ in that system cool while at continous max load cool while the cooler is practically inaudible. Thumbs up.

Abit, AOpen, Asus, Gigabyte, MSI and so forth

Hello I'm writing a little piece on various brands. My main focus will be on the brands that do both motherboards and graphics card such as Asus (and thus excluding Creative Labs), and I had the thought, that I'd like to hear some opinions from hardware-enlightened people around the world - the...

I need a digital camera reccomendation

8 megapixel Canon PowerShot Pro1 There you have lots of resolution in a reasonably small camera. It's not a DSLR so you'll experience some picture noice, but the truth is that you'll hardly notice it once it's printed. But check out the sample shots from the 8 megapixel cameras. Personally I...

    This Prescott must be crippled

Well it did come straight from the nice people at Intel. Programs like CPU-Z and SiSoft Sandra seem to agree that it's an enginering sample, but I'm not quite sure yet. Either way I'm not about to sell it. Sounds like a great way to make the Intel guys reeeaaally mad at me. I'd much rather keep...

    This Prescott must be crippled

Yeah. Now I need to figure out some use for it other than just Folding@home. ;) BTW I hooked the two machines up with one of these: IOGEAR MiniView? Micro Audio KVM Switch Two taps on the Scroll Lock button and the monitor switches between the two machines. I'm totally in love with this toy...

    This Prescott must be crippled

Man what a mess. :) I seems to be working now, thanks to some really good pointers. Turns out I needed to shift a jumper to enter config mode, adjust the stepping and put the annoying jumper back. How I love motherboards that think users are so stupid they should be restricted from certain...

    This Prescott must be crippled

Hee hee I would if this "Intel brand" motherboard had any kind of OC settings in the BIOS. I really need to smooze my contact at Asus to send me a better board than this. I feel so... restricted. :P

    This Prescott must be crippled

Thanks for the replies guys :) I did a totally clean install, as the harddrive had never been used before putting together that system. I've got the latest drivers for graphics and sound along with everything I could find at www.intel.com. At full load the temperatures are quite within reason...

    This Prescott must be crippled

Hiya I recently recieved a Pentium 4 Prescott 3.4GHz CPU and a D875PBZ (Intel 875P) from Intel. I added the following to create a complete system out of those parts: 400W PSU (Intel Active Monitor is quite satisfied under full load) Creative Radeon 9800 XT graphics card (works perfectly)...
