Check out these 2 guides 1 and 2. The first one does a lot of benchmarking of 2100-3200 and the 2nd one goes upto 3700 (didnt know that existed ). I found them to be quite informative.

I upgraded to 1002.003, mult was unlocked, but I got a weird msg @ post: 'system failed memory test' . Went to 1002.001. Seemed fine for a couple of boots, then I got the msg again. Any1 know what this is about?

Doesnt your board manual tell you which dimm slots to use for dual mode opeartion? If you populate those slots, then you shd be fine.
