I went with Pro after some friends had tried both the Home and Professional. They recommended Pro for the networking features and since I was in the process of building a dual processor system, Pro was the only way to go.

Worked just great with XP after I downloaded the firmware update to my access point. Granted, it is not native driver support included for XP, but it works.
No, the firewall cannot be turned off. However, you can place a computer in the DMZ to have it outside the firewall. The DMZ settings are located under the advanced settings tab.
