Shut down your computer, and disconnect the IDE cable connectors at the back of the drive and at the motheboard, then reconnect them. Reboot and see if you get the same error message. Also, the HP-9110i that I have only likes the middle connector on the IDE cable. I have had a few problems...

I had the same problem, and did a reinstall of the drivers, and viola, works fine.
