Shipping is $7.95 if you buy a globe and base - you could probably do better in the store.

This is a good deal (speaking as the owner of 6 lava lamps) but you have to buy the base separately. Actual price for an ENTIRE lava lamp is more like $35 before tax/shipping, which is about $5 less than they normally go for at Spencer's.

Has anyone else actually done this to their 8250? Is there risk of permanently screwing it up, or can you always just go back to the original configuration? Do you actually get 8x/4x/32x performance?
