Thanks for the tip, but unfortunately that didn't fix it. I tried everything on that page. Bethesda's website also has no useful information. Does anyone else have a suggestion?

I would recommend checking out Battlefield 2 if you liked 1942. It's got all the good stuff about 1942 with updated graphics and all, without the more contrived parts of BC2. Plus it'll be much less expensive as it's now quite a few years old. enjoy!
