no irq or dma conflicts.... i'm using diamond's latest mx300 drivers, and i don't remember what version cause i'm not on my athlon machine while writing this.... anyway, i'll give it a try tonight...thanks what i should have gotten was a soundblaster live card.... oh well...

amd 1 Ghz tbird win98se asus a7v 256 mb pc133 ram wd 40 gig 7200 rpm uata 100 hd monster mx300 sound card sound card has latest drivers but every time an application with sound runs, it freezes systems. have card on 3rd pci slot. please help with any advice...thanx in advance

i've finally found the solution to my problem.... i switched the jumper on the hd to factory position (unmarked prongs) and everything went fine from there.... still working on getting system up to multimedia standard...

I'll give it a try.... I have BIOS 1004d. I just realized 1005c were out at amdmb.com site. I was beginning to think it was the IDE cable.... but I'll try... thanks... :cool:

Can someone help me please? For some reason my A7V mb won't recognize my 40gig Western Digital HD. The bios don't even detect it. And yes it's properly plugged into it's IDE UATA 100 connector. I've used EZ Installer from WD and it able to detect the hd. I was even able to partition and...
