Thanks Zephyr. I am thinking about an opteron 144 for the web server and maybe an opteron 175 for the database. BTW, how do the raptor 36GB shape up for reliability? I used one in my desktop for the last few years, so no complaints there, but I am curious about 24/7 operation.

Actually Poweredge 850. The thing that looks appealing is Pentium D 830 is a free upgrade, and power is not really a concern. Although I do like the idea of an extra 1MB of cache. I am looking at building my own too on newegg, but Dell's warranty is pretty sweet, so it's a tough call.

Thanks reiniku. It looks pretty good, and Zalman has always worked well for me. Also, i just ordered the leadtek version of the card because the PNY I got at Fry's has the shrouded HS, which generally adds more to noise.
