    Hiper seem to offer good value in the UK, it may be that your requirements extend beyond even their most powerful model though...

    I need a new LCD <$550 at least 1280x1024

    I have a 2005FPW and sometimes game at 1280x1024, tbh I find the black bars pretty unobtrusive, its only 13 pixels top and bottom. OTOH I would have definitely done for a larger screen if not for the price (I guess this is stating the obvious).

    Haha, they actually state in that article that the 'dark' pictures they have taken don't do the displays justice...How precisely is looking at pictures of a superior display technology using my own inferior display ever going to show it in a good light?

    As far as dx10 goes I would expect that it will take a while after vista's release before many games use it (a year?) and even longer before dx9 and dx10 paths are very different.

    No problems with mine either (it is A01 though). The revision can be found on the back of the monitor if anyone is unsure.
