kraken x60 threads are too shallow for asus xtreme 6

Thanks, I will try this out. The holes on the stock plate are too big for the cooler's threads

kraken x60 threads are too shallow for asus xtreme 6

Oh wow I can't believe I forgot to do that. I've updated the OP. The photos are not the best quality but I had to do it quickly. I can maybe get higher quality ones after work tomorrow. Basically, the fittings in the first/second picture are not sufficiently penetrating the motherboard for...

kraken x60 threads are too shallow for asus xtreme 6

When trying to hook up a kraken x60 to an xtreme 6, i noticed that the threads on the cooler's back harness are too shallow to receive the screws from the pump. the CPU backplate is too thick and the cooler's harness does not fit around it, causing the dimension issue. what is the cheapest way...

Optimal memory given CPU's voltage requirement?

Thanks for all the suggestions! I will take your recommendations and go for the rig Ken was talking about. I'm quite new the whole thing and (as you can probably tell) not a great judge of what is necessary for various setups to run optimally. @Ken: I probably wouldn't be launching multiple...

Optimal memory given CPU's voltage requirement?

Sorry when I meant "bang for buck" I meant within the performance realm I was in. There were several options that fit the 4960's operating range but I was looking for whatever would give me the fewest SSD hits per dollar at the 64 range. What this machine is for: 1. I'm a developer first, and...

Optimal memory given CPU's voltage requirement?

I like to jump between games, browsers, development, open remote connections simultaneously, which is why I went for 64. If the latency won't be an issue, should I downgrade to the vengeance pros at 1866?

Optimal memory given CPU's voltage requirement?

PCPartPicker is telling me that the 4960 won't play well with the Dominator Platinum memory i've selected since the 4960 prefers an operating max range of 1.575V and the Dominator Plats are going to require 1.65V to work optimally. I'm trying to get the most bang for my buck, but I don't really...
