im basically in the same process as you with the 2500k, i went ahead and went amd, my purpose of upgarde was my gtx280 died and bought an rx580 at a sweet deal of 120 new and it won't work on the asrock p67ex4. keeping case / psu / and drives (temporarily)

i use these to convert hdmi source to coax for the existing runs in my home, hopefully i'll finish my cablechase soon and can do away with them, but they'll get it done
used to be fairly common to see reset buttons on the io panel for a while. but what i normaly do is just take an old 2 position switch and a servo connector or 3pin jst and some wire and remote mount it somewhere easier to get to.
i saw reports that a high margin of the boards that flashed to 3.1 (only version avail on their site) bricked their boards and had to get new bios chips sent to them for $25 and had to do it via money order.
The bios flash on their site has to be done within windows 7/8, not found a reliable...
I still have my old VooDoo PCI and AGP cards, the first discrete video card i had was an old CGA ISA card. have lots of old stuff lying around, plan on putting them into epoxy in my upcoming desk build.
I got a good deal on an RX580 8gb XFX card.
The GTX280 i had in my aging i5 build finaly bit the bucket, just quit posting
got it to post with an old 8400gs long enough to get another card on the way
its on an asrock p67 extreme 4 board with the original bios, i never updated it too many people...
