Updating the bios to f5b didn't help. After the update I left the machine off for 3 hrs and once again it will not post without removing the battery for an hour and basically resetting the cmos to its default.

Memory is set to the bios default of 9-9-9-9-24 (Memory is rated 8-8-8-21). Everything else is off.

thanks for the reply. all speeds are stock and I'm only running 2 sticks (which ran through 10 passes overnight with memtest86 with no errors)....seems like something is corrupting the cmos but I don't know what.
