Not all firewire ports are created equal. For some reason they can't figure out how to standardize em, so some devices won't work with certain ports. Test it with another firewire device to see if your card is defective.

So I was putting together a computer, and they wanted it so that it could boot to either win98 or win2k. I don't remember what went wrong but I ended up formatting the win98 partition after I had everything working (something went wrong, anyway) and reinstalling win98. Now I don't get the boot...

In any 3D game (D3D or OpenGL) the monitor flickers like mad from the screen to magenta or so. Lots of visual artifacts as well. Do I need to A) update drivers or B) try disabling V-sync?

Yeah, I like Trillian mostly because I don't have to have AIM and ICQ open at the same time (what I used to do).

I use Trillian (www.trillian.cc), I wanted to know what others used. I tried Odigo, didn't really like it (hate tab+space for msg), I tried Imici and Jabber as well, but didn't really like them.

For some reason whenever I try to read my message archive now (it worked yesterday) ICQ crashes. Is there a stand alone reader? It's kinda important. Oh, and what file does ICQ store the old messages in?

That sounds like a much better way to do things. Standardized testing would be where every school across the nation gets the exact same test. Usually, the math, science, and history portions are fill in the bubble, but the english portion is a writing assignment.
