It just plain amazes me how much power you can get for <$150 nowadays : Used 775 mobo that OCs - $40 New E5200 - $70 4GB RAM - $25 $135 for a ~3.5GHz system that's about equivalent to a ~3.8GHz older C2D. Wow...

Since you have a P35 mobo, it's definitely more cost effective for you to stick with the Core 2 line (no need for new mobo, RAM and HSF). It's a different story in the case of my antiquated setup (965P-DS3 R1.0 w/E6600) :P

Look into ffdshow post processing. I have two profiles (square and WS) setup to do bob deinterlacing, resizing with luma (Lanczos 2 tap) and chroma sharpening, followed by a gradual denoise. Can get CPU intensive but it looks pretty darned good.
