I'd say a 6800GT, but either do it now or wait until the next big hitters come. But other than that, theres nothing wrong with your 9700Pro if i'ts playing all your games smoothly at the moment. I guess it's a simple question of whether or not your happy with it.
Weird.
Well I guess...
1)GamePC is using a timedemo on volcano, while I dunno about anandtech. Prolly a custom demo or something. Although I heard that the volcano thing was the most demanding part of the game. Not sure since I haven't played it yet *gasp*.
2)Ok I really only had one...
Got service pack 2, and I'm running a Enermax 435watt power supply.
Do both of your cards work in single mode? Maybe one of them is throwing things off.
A friend of mine had a XFX Geforce 440 that overclocked to hell and back. Amazing card.
Never had a problem with XFX, they're always getting pretty good reviews. IE Kickass in Maximum PC.
I haven't emailed them recently, prolly about several months ago. And they responded within 2 days. They have even emailed me a beta bios not released a few times for my motherboard. They even called my house one time with some dude making sure my problem was fixed. Couldn't understand him but...
Best motherboard I've owned to date, period. No problems at all.
Cept maybe like the other guys here with the 6800GT issues, but thats not ASUS's fault.
Well maybe... they could have released some 6800GT's along with the board. w00t hehe
I had my two gigabyte 6600gt's working fine with my A8N. They did the exact same thing that yours it, but once I installed the latest drivers they worked like a charm.
Also, gigabyte has given me terrific support when I've emailed them in the past. They always replied and fixed my problems...
I'd go with the 9100 thats probably your best bet out of those ones, should give you the best performance. You say you are upgrading but what is your new system going to be?
Anyways the 9100 is essentially a 8500 which outperformed the ti200 anyways.
Well I used to have my Klipsies 5.1 runnin through the onboard sound with no problem. Then I "ugraded" to the Audigy 2 but you might wanna quadruple check all those connections to make sure they are hooked up right.
If that doesn't work, check the configuration utility off the Mobo cd.
I can't remember the site (I think it was hot hardware) but they said the case was quieter than the Xaser II despite the extra fans.
And the case is totally redesigned, and you better not lose the keys....
