they're both good heatsinks, and probably will yield very very similar temps..
just that ax-7 only accepts 80mm fans i believe... while sk7 there's a little bit more variability.
sk7 is heavier, and longer... while ax-7 is wider. i think??
so how do u then connect the fan's red and black wires to the modified molex cable?
i modified the molex following the instructions seen here:
7 volt fan mod
how then.. do i connect this to my fan with bare red and black wires?
the psu fan is supposed to be an exhaust right? (i only have 1 fan in psu)
but i tried flipping it around, and it is so much quieter this way.
can i just leave it like this .. or is it not good for the system? it's an NMB.
i know the nmb is rated at ~19db (i use it for my psu currently)
but sometimes the quality of the sound of the fan can make it more discreet/silent (some fans are quiet, but whiny/rattle sound)
even tho the panaflo is rated at ~21db... how would you guys say it compares to the NMB...
as we all know... computers can be very fickle and unpredictable..
it just started worKing OK on its own... i don't know how and i don't know why... but i really don't care as long as it's working fine now.
i was installing my newly purchased ax-7 ... and the screwdriver came off a few times while pressure was on the clip. It didn't seem like i did any serious damage from the feel of it.. and inspecting the mobo itself..
but now...
every like 2 minutes or so... my computer will just pause for...
most fans seem to have 3pin connectors... but the fan in my psu has only 2.
if i wanted to replace the fan, how would i get a 3 pin fan to fit into a 2 pin connector?
any suggestions?
i quieted down my fan, and now the psu is driving me nuts... i need something that's SILENT, yet won't cost me an arm and leg...
any good suggestions?
