yeah i thought 45 was getting a little high since i had seen around 40 as an average. i only have a single switch controlled fan cooling the cpu right now, though, so its a pretty basic setup. i'm happy i managed to do as much with it.

i just got this chip a few days ago and decided to mess with oc'ing tonight. this is my first venture in to overclocking, so i'm slightly weary. ive moved the core voltage incrimentally up to 1.8v so far, and i would push it but im concerned about frying this sucker. i've also moved the system...

tested your suggestion and failed. still no dice. i DID check the cpu compatibility chart for my mobo (asus a7v8x) and its on the list, so i dunno.

so i just pulled this chip from my sisters computer and dropped it in mine. my motherboard defaulted it at 900mhz and any attempt to raise it causes a hang. any thoughts? yes, it was running at 1200mhz before i pulled it.

i just bought an Asus A7V8X from another AT'er, and am now looking for a cpu. The mobo cpu compatibility list has been quite helpful, but I'm sort of confused on the issue of athlon mobile cpus. should i be able to use a mobile chip with this motherboard? if the clockspeed and core match one on...

i'm still not very convinced, but fvckin a if its true.
