    19" CRT Resolution

I tried the 16x9 letterbox format and my text is sharper as well. It's interesting have a letterbox format on the PC, but I had to switch back to 4:3.

    ASUS 7800GT Dual

Do you recall if that dual 6600GT card tested faster than two 6600GTs in SLI? Sorry. But for the record, I did search for this topic and didn't find anything. Must've missed it.

    ASUS 7800GT Dual

Check out this new video card by ASUS that has two 7800 GTs on one card. Looks like it allows you to do SLI without an SLI mb (but PCI-E, of course). http://www.hothardware.com/#news1053 http://www.pcper.com/#NewsID-1275 I guess the question is: Is it faster than just running two...

what resoultion do you run your games at ?

But don't you find that the trade off for higher refresh rates is a slight decrease in sharpness? I think it's pretty clear that text looks sharpest at 60hz (even though the flicker is eye-killing). The same is true for 75hz vs 85 hz, with 85hz being just slightly fuzzier than 75hz.

what resoultion do you run your games at ?

Even with my lowly P4 2.4 ghz, 1GB RDRAM, and 6600 GT OC, I still manage to run all my games at either 1600x1200 @75hz (fine for my eyes), or 1280x960 with 2xAA 4xAF. The latter is usually just a tad less smooth than the straight up 16x12, but it's also a tad prettier. So I'm constantly...

R520 ? ?clearly dominates the fastest competitive hardware?

Well, at the bare minimum, dominate would mean turning in a greater score than nVidia on the majority of commonly used test programs/games. So we're not talking about a slower-than-nvidia card. The rep could've said "those numbers are wrong". Instead he chose the words "clearly dominated"...

    More leaked reliable* R520 benchmarks!

Awesome. So now we wait until the official R520 numbers come out and if they aren't substantially different from Sander's numbers than we'll have confirmation that ATI talks out of their posterior.

Cursor smoother at 60Hz than 75Hz?

Definitely -- 75 Hz is easier on the eyes, and is what I use for 1600X1200 Windows. The 60 Hz starts to make my head hurt after only a few seconds. But I just thought it weird that the cursor is smoother in some applications than in others. It really makese no sense that the cursor moves...

Cursor smoother at 60Hz than 75Hz?

I use the Logitech MX1000, which has a set rate of 125 Hz. But, the mystery deepens: At 60 Hz, moving the mouse arrow over the desktop's wallpaper and within Windows Explorer produced a smooth cursor, however, if you move it over a blank Firefox or Internet Explorer page it suddenly gets...

    New R520 Benchmarks

I really, really hope so. That would sure be an exciting twist. Which now gets me thinking... maybe somebody WANTED me to feel disappointment followed by huge excitement. It makes for a more involving story when the hero is seemingly defeated and then rises to vanquish the villain. But I'm...

Cursor smoother at 60Hz than 75Hz?

I have a 19" CRT monitor (Gateway VX900, driven by a BFG 6600 GT OC) and after some experimenting just became conscious of the fact that when I have Windows XP set to the god-awful refresh rate of 60Hz, the mouse cursor's movement actually appears SMOOTHER than when it is at 75, 85, and 100Hz...
