AMD's real biggest issue, The DX9 Artifacts

Did you even look at my post? I have the exact same problems with a Gigabyte Windforce edition card. It is a driver problem, not manufacturer related.

AMD's real biggest issue, The DX9 Artifacts

I only tried Alan Wake for a few minutes to confirm increased performance over my old card, but I could not notice any artifacts during that time. I will have to test again. I can confirm terrible artifacting in Chivalry and Dead Island, which can even get unplayable at times. Skyrim artifacts...

    Which 7950 to get?

I will be changing my dated HD4890 soon, probably by new year's time, and I'm having a hard time picking a suitable upgrade with the crazy new prices and a great deal of issues with the market segment I'm in for. After some research, I've decided to settle for an HD7950 over the 660Ti because of...

Writing research paper, would like to write on AMD

You should rather write on the subject of Intel's business ethics. Now that would be a juicy topic.

    I hope your parents do.

    1055t to i5 2500k?

The i5 would blow it out of the water in terms of single-threaded performance, and that is always a good thing for games. In my experience between the PII 955 and the i5, there's just no comparison in real world situations: the i5 is a beast. If you are planning to get this for your gaming needs...

Just installed a AMD FX 8350. My thoughts!!!

Yes, and when Venus is in the position to directly influence the spherical shape of C-59 and doing so allow the hydrogen to be freed from the dusty crust of IO-44, the evident adverse effect is the collision between X-590-A and C-58 which leads to the creation of photon particles which bounce...

Upgrade to 6 or 8 core?

Keep your money and wait until Intel comes up with an alternative to the product you need right now, because you need to buy Intel. They call it the sapphire law.

    Upgrade Help Please

The FX-8350 would be around the quad core i7 in performance most of the time, but certain games might run a lot better on the i7. Between the FX and an i5, I'd say the FX would beat it in almost everything but gaming. That said, if you are a gamer, Intel is the way to go. If you want great...

    Worried about my OC

42 degrees is a dream. There probably won't be any issues in the summer either (though I don't know how hot summers get in your location). You could probably even push that CPU further. That is, if the temp readings are accurate. AMD FX CPUs have been known to report weird temperatures.

    i5 or amd hexacore??

My apologies, I wasn't meaning to say that your 550 Ti is bottlenecking your current CPU, but that it would bottleneck an i5 quite a lot. And the Newegg links are just for reference, I know that you're not from the states and I'm not either. Either way, if you cannot change your card now, go...

    i5 or amd hexacore??

If you really don't want to change your graphics card (which I would strongly advise you to do), then by all means get the i5. Otherwise, consider getting a GTX 650 Ti + an FX-6300 and a cheap motherboard. Something along these lines: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130839...

Considering a cpu upgrade......is it worth it?

Nobody here is confused about bottlenecks, it is just that some are trying too hard to make it look like the CPU bottlenecking will be so huge it will justify getting a much more expensive system with a weaker graphics card. If your graphics card will not be a card able to do more than 45 fps...

Considering a cpu upgrade......is it worth it?

I think you should re-read my statement. When there is no GPU bottleneck, the Phenom averages 45. Okay, so that is the top. What if the graphics card cannot manage more than that? Is it worth buying a better CPU in that case? That is the matter I was trying to discuss. Of course the i5 is...

Considering a cpu upgrade......is it worth it?

Sure, but you should then also test if the CPU even matters at higher resolutions. I do believe that the i5 would be much better than most CPUs in terms of minimum frame rates. But you must acknowledge that nobody today plays at 1024x768, so testing the game at that resolution hoping to get...
