Ive used virtual PC 5 on a 1ghz 17" powerbook g4 with a gig of ram and it still ran like a turd, If running windows was that important id invest a tiny bit more money, not biu VPC, and instead buy a slim lightweight intel or AMD based notebook used off of ebay or the forums here.

I personally would only pay the premium for the devices that use the lappy hardware if space and noise were FAR more important than preformance. which. to me they arent.

I'd say pen and paper. If your pen runs out of ink usually a classmate will have a spare you can use. If your Tablet PC craps out on you you're SOL and back to using pen and paper anyway. Never seen a pad of paper crash and lose all my notes.. :D
