    DDR tRAS settings with A64...

I did...at several different settings. No difference. I've used Memtest86 latest version AND Sandra Membench. Could it be something in the CPU stepping that's affecting the internal memory controller? Maybe the 3000+ C0 I have uses it's OWN settings, regardless of what I tell it to do. Does...

    DDR tRAS settings with A64...

THANK YOU, JBT!! FINALLY, someone has decided to do their own testing...like I did. That was my WHOLE point... If anyone else cares to run the benches themselves, they'd see that there IS NO DIFFERENCE! That is why I asked the question to begin with. The reviewer for Anandtech has stated...

STILL no answer?? I'm losing respect for this forum and operators...HELLO? :disgust:

    DDR tRAS settings with A64...

yeah...This is kinda what I expected... Still, no answer. Have you folks actually done the testing? Can you prove your results?:frown:

    DDR tRAS settings with A64...

There was some discussion as to whether tRAS settings of 10-11 were better for performance on A64 than lower settings. While this was true in NForce2, I've done some testing of my own and have NOT found the same with A64 NewCastle 3000+ C0 on Chaintech VNF3-250. In some of the latest reviews...

Chaintech VNF3 mobo 5/7/04 beta bios : UPDATE: I got it now!, LMK if you want it.

I tried this...it's a no-go on my board. RAM shows maxmemclk at 166. Clicking HammerFID control shows no options (for multi?) and it locks up. Only CRL-ALT-DEL will release it.... Any ideas? Oooops, yep, you're right...you HAVE to load fail-safe defaults and reboot...silly me... Thanks!:beer...

Setting up RAID on Chaintech NForce 250 VNF3-250???

Yep, also with it set at 4's (ie. 8-4-4-2.5). It don't like that...

    Chaintech nForce3 250 VNF3-250

232 async...This is NOT impressive. This has to do with the RAM obviously. Looks like I'll be putting the HyperX back in the NF7-S and the Kingston Value stuff back in here...oh well. I suppose my NEXT upgrade will have to be some GREAT ram...

Setting up RAID on Chaintech NForce 250 VNF3-250???

What settings would you suggest? I've given CL3 a shot and she won't even boot...weird. I've tried dropping HT to 3...up to 2.9vdimm. Even 1.74vcore...that was scary, tho. Die temps went to 63-65 load (in a cool room, stock HSF)...Should I consider better cooling? How high would YOU...

Setting up RAID on Chaintech NForce 250 VNF3-250???

The HyperX WILL NOT do what my Value stick would do...strange, maybe it's because I'm running two sticks...? hmmmmmm

Setting up RAID on Chaintech NForce 250 VNF3-250???

It appears the HyperX3500 (mine anyway) tops out at 226 in sync. That's 100% stable. (I won't post a number unless it's completely stable...what's the point.) I'll be running async tests next.

    Chaintech nForce3 250 VNF3-250

Well 229/sync was looking pretty good but it's only stable through about half of SuperPi 8MB test... Back to 228... EDIT: 226 was final stable sync FSB Next, I'll try async ... That should be interesting... G

    Chaintech nForce3 250 VNF3-250

Been at 225 for a day now...(at 100% folding load)... 'bout to bump her up to 230 and see what happens. The HyperX won't run 225 in my NF7-S v2, but it's very good with the Chaintech. I found also that the Kingston Value stuff I did the review with won't run any where close to 218 (sync) on the...

    Chaintech nForce3 250 VNF3-250

No, there's no multi adjust in the new BIOS either. I'm keeping fingers crossed this happens with the "next" BIOS....(please! !) ;) To update...I've just dropped in two sticks of HyperX 3500. Man, this thing is REALLY kicking now.

Setting up RAID on Chaintech NForce 250 VNF3-250???

    I just popped in 2 sticks of HyperX3500 (256 each). So far I'm up to 225 in-sync....looking for more...:D
