no it's basically 4 holes on the mobo with 4 legs on the cooler, you can move each leg by 45 degrees, the idea is to fit the legs on the holes, then push down the first one into the hole and move it by 45 deg, then youll do the same for the opposite. then the same for the 2 other legs. whenever...

thermal paste all gone i think ill completely destroy the chip, the board and the cooler if I continue.. cooler looks battered already :( it's like this, I can fix 3 of the legs pushing them down, but as soon as I push down the 4th one of the other legs pops out... it doesn matter what leg...

got an arctic pro 7 and a q6600, board gigabyte p35-dq6... whenever I try to push down the legs of the cooler, one of the legs snaps and breaks loose... only able to arrest 3 of the 4 legs!!!!

how's the board so far for you guys, I've ordered one alongside a q6600 and 4gigs of ram

The Dq6? Well I heard it will be discontinued once X38 hits the streets but I couldn't care less about that. From what I've seen it looks like an awesome board, I'll post my thoughts on it once I have it here at home.

Well thanks for the input.. I also ordered a Gigabyte P35-DQ6 which according to reviews has a good heat sink solution, I heard not every fan will fit with it tho.

Nah just wondering, I want to only moderately overclock it at first since my last cpu was a 3500+ and my last experience with OC'ing dates back to 2003 or whatever. After that I might buy another cooler...

I was really set for the p35c because of the ddr3/ddr2 support, because at a latter stage I might wanna get some ddr3 modules (if they drop significantly in price) - I ordered a q6600 and 4 gigs of ram (800mhz cl4 corsair) and it kinda annoys me not knowing when and whether the p35c will arrive...
