The benchmark tests i ran show my HD is running about 2 mb per second on uncached speed.
The reference should be around 4 mb per second. I've ran Scandisc & defrag: no help. DMA is checked & I've ran various Cachman settings with little change.
On a # of tests my hard drive speed for uncached speed is coming up at around 2mb/s
and all the benchmarks say it should be at or over 4mb/s.
Any ideas?
Using Tweakbios i reset my SDRAM CAS latency from 3 to 2 and the system locks. It's a Dell/BX440 motherboard P3 850 w/256mg RAM. The RAM is 128 from Dell & 128 from Crucial.
Any ideas? Maybe the Dell RAM is CAS3?
Check out the site www.onecall.com They know there stuff and sell only quality. The retail store they're affiliated with has been around for over 80 years(long before hi-fi). Look for brands like Onkyo and H-K and speaks from Atlantic, JBL, or NHT.
Good luck!!!!!!!!!
Is the blotch in a corner? You should have a degause button somewhere. Try turning the monitor off for about 15 minutes & power back up. On my Sony the degause function is in the menu under options. Good luck!!
I've got a BX board that's currently running an ATA 33 drive, i'm told by IBM their new ATA 100 is compatable but wnon't take advantage of the speed unless i get a ATA 100 PCI card.
Is this good info?
I got a jump of about 250 points on the 3d2000 test. Also the stock chip had a heat sink only but the chip i bought had the fan & heatsink & the power lead for the fan. The mb has the connection for it.
Got to go to work.
