Ive never used a firewall on XP or win2k...hate them....pointless to me, never been infected with anything and never had any odd traffic in or out of my PC...guess its all how I play my cards =)

I know, but I didnt think it would have been hit that bad...and I hate its firewall, the OS shouldnt be that bad anyhow, thats my point. I run win2k SP4 without a firewall or anything...nothing is infected with anything.

actually, I had to do a naked XP install non Service Pack 1 the other day on my machine....I went to plug in the ethernet to get the service pack and updates and such...as soon as I went to windows update and nothing more, I got 15 or so popups and several search bars installed...

I would love to know if this processor will work in a Epox 4PEA+ 845pe board....

Well I did a bit playing around with my memory and my system clocks and wow! I guess this little proggy is very memory reliant too... I went from 3.45ghz memory 384mhz 2/5/3/2 with a score of 65.xx(first post) to cpu now at 3.33ghz memory 462mhz 2/5/3/2 score of ........ Program : PiFast...

Um.... they say in the review that the AGP voltage in the BIOS actually adjusts the chipset voltage.....?!?!? They say its the same for the 4PEA+ also?!?!?! Is this true? I have not heard anything else bout this before..anywhere else.

TTGI Power Supplies rock. I got 520watt with adjustable POTS for 69$ a bit above what ur lookin to spend but definatly worth the extra 9$ =) Will keep ur computer happy for a long time...

actually, I just did it...risking having to reinstall win2k cause I hate DX9....BUT suprisingly that system state backup worked QUITE well... I restored it back and went to dxdiag...even the old dxdiag was restored and everything was DX8.1 just like should have been. Everyone without win2k...

I know that win2k does not feature system restore BUT.... if I install DX9 and want DX8.1 back is it possible to restore it this way? run NTbackup before installing DX9 make a SYSTEM STATE backup then install DX9?? If I need to go back to DX8.1 if I restore the SYSTEM STATE backup will it...
