Hi, I'm currently messing around with my new Radeon 8500 and a monitor I've never used before. While trying to solve some problems with dvd tv-out stuff my screen suddenly turned VERY dark -not completely black though. Suddenly it went back to normal while changing between tv-out on and off...

Hmm, have no idea, how do I check that in win xp? During some of the ati installations I got a warning that was suggested might have to do with dma not enabled on my hdd!? I didn't bother looking into it cause I have no clue where to start.. Must say I feel a bit lost..

Got two problems with my ATI Radeon 8500 64MB: DVD and AVI movie window appears black on TV. I can see my desktop and all on my TV but movies appear as a black window, at the same time it looks fine on my monitor showing the movie in corresponding window. What do I do wrong, how do I get it...

Can I use the same slotket as I do now with my Celeron 466MHz on an Abit BF6 slot1 mobo if I upgrade to a Celeron 1,4GHz? If not what do I need, are they hard to find? Thanks

Thanks a lot! I've got to check my vcore voltage and see what can be done. Just checked cpu temp in bios, says 59 degrees c when my Asus pc prob software tells me 66 degrees.. just like you guys say -can't fully trust the readings.. But I feel I'm on the right track now, thanks.

Just bought a 1,4 GHz AMD Athlon(Thunderbird), and it's operating temperature is somewhere between 69 and 74 degrees Celsius. Is that normal? My system seems stable anyway. Thanks Frolic
