I would keep away from the Intel Application accelerator. I have tried some Busmaster drivers in the past. Absolutely no one had any real advantages over the MS drivers but you are running into trouble very easy with them. I don´t think IAA is any better. I never had any problem with the MS...
I noticed the Xbitlabs review uses the Abit ST6 mobo... Some have recommended the ASUS TUSL2-C but it has a BIOS problem at 140 mhz FSB and above... thus requiring a special BIOS flash...
what bios-problem has the TUSL2-C at 140 MHz? I didn´t find any.
Bought another Cel 1.0A. Much better than the first one. Runs stable up to 1550 MHz with default voltage and Intel Boxed Fan on a TUSL2-C. Stable Limit is about 1580 MHz @ 1,525V. Starts @ 1600 into Windows but crashes with 3D. Makes no difference if I use one Infineon module 256MB PC133 CL2 or...
@ arga
look at the sticker on the box.
The interesting numbers are the FPO# and the Pack date. Please post them here.
I think from the FPO# you can tell also where the Cely was produced. When comparing all the numbers a FPO# beginning with a 7...... should be a Phillipine and beginning with a...
I used a MSI and a Abit Slotket III. With the Abit you can use larger coolers. Regarding stability there is no difference. I´m using a Celeron 600 @ 900MHz. No stability problems @ default voltage. If you are no gamer there is no need for PIII, a Cel should do it.
I have an old BH-6 board and I´m using an Abit Slotket adapter for my Cel600@900MHz.
First I tried a MSI adapter which worked also but a large cpu-cooler didn´t fit as I remember.
I got an Asus CUSL2-C board very cheap but without cables. The only problem I found now is the cable for the second serial port (COM2). The COM2 is not onboard connector as it´s usually realized with ATX boards but with a backplate as it was with the old AT-boards. But the COM cables pinout at...
Hi oldfart. I´m interested in overclocking Celerons also. One of my systems was initially a 300A @ 450MHz and was replaced later with a Cel600 @ 900 MHz currently with a slotket in my old Abit BH-6.
Now I want to build a new system for a friend with a Tualatin Celeron or PIII. I will get a...
Juggybear, what motherboard are you using? If you are running a Intel815 based mobo or any other designed for 133 MHz systemclock there should be no probs with agp. But I think you have a BX based board or anything like this, right?
I have 2 G200 cards which are good but not excellent with 2D Quality. My very best card is a Diamond V770 TNT2 Ultra, than a G400. But the Diamond is much better than the G400. Maybe there are also production tolerances.
