Yes it came with the adaptec bundle. But it wouldn't write data cd's with it. I loaded NERO and now it does.

what software are you using? Mine doesn't work on data transfers with the adaptec software.

I used the adaptec software to format the CDRW. Will it only work with adaptec now? I tried nero and it says the disc is not writable?!?

I downloaded an update, I'm not sure if it was 4.02d or not. I just removed that software and I'm loading NEro to give it a shot.

I just bought a new Plextor 12/10/32 EIDE CD-RW. It burns audio cd's fine. When I try to burn a data cd using Easy cd creator 4(adaptec),that came with it, it says "Please insert a Cd with sufficient space" No matter what size file I choose. I tried one of the smallest files I have and...

This may sound like a stupid question but you did have your machine off when you tried pulling the battery...right? If you did and you tried a resart did it POST if not how many beeps did you get? What bios and version is that MOBO running?

Well no useful info in this thread......but I laughed alot reading it!!!!!!

You can remove the battery to your CMOS chip to reset the CMOS settings to defaault. This will get you back to where you can boot up. Leave it out for 30 seconds or so the reinsert and reboot.

Any new components installed lately? Did you try booting with only minimal hardware and 1 stick of ram in different slots? Did he mess around in the bios or flash it recently? Any post beeps?
